Helping Families Find Their Silver Lining

Founder - Doula - NICU Support Coordinator

Meet the Foundation

Hello, hello, I am Megan! I am a birth doula, the founder and coordinator of both the Silver Linings Foundation AND BisMan NICU Miracles, and mama to my three incredible children. We live in Bismarck and our house is full of love thanks to my husband, our 5 year old son, our 4 year old twin daughters (my twinkies), and our hairy beast of a Husky. Life can get pretty hectic juggling all of these roles, but I wouldn't change it for the world.

I found my calling as a NICU support organizer and birth and bereavement doula after having premature babies, and later having a difficult miscarriage. My labor with the twinkies was difficult and a little scary. They were born at 33 weeks gestation and spent 5 weeks in the NICU. We were lucky to have had great family support, but there were so many time I wished there was a group of mamas I could turn to that understood the NICU experience. That is how NICU Miracles came to be. From there, I turned my attention to supporting mamas with high risk pregnancies and pre-term labor, as well as bereavement services for pregnancy and infant loss.

I feel very lucky to be able to use my experiences as a mama to support women and their families through the amazing organization that Silver Linings has become. The name, Silver Linings, was chosen because it is my passion to support mamas that are working their way through a variety of difficult situations. Just like rainbows come after a storm, there are silver linings no matter how cloudy things might seem. It is my goal to help mamas find their silver lining and to give them whatever sort of support they may need.
